Making tomato sauce....
by JWOP innot sure where i should post this?.
last year i got into home canning.
this year i sooooo want to make homemade tomato sauce, but i'll need a food mill to do it because it's too time consuming to de-seed 52 jars worth of tomatoes.. i've been online looking at customer reviews for various brands and models, but now i'm just a muddled mess.reviews speak about multiple uses and the pros and cons, but i only want it for tomato sauce/spaghetti sauce.. do any of you use a food mill for homemade tomato sauce?

First, you blanch the tomatos for 2 minutes - cut the stem end out first. Plunge into ice water, then slip the skins off. Throw the whole peeled tomatos into a pot and simmer for a while. After they are very soft and broken up, run them through the blender very briefly. Then use the Foley mill - a hand cranked strainer thing - to get the seeds out. Then season and simmer until thick enough. Makes perfect sauce every time.

Top Ten most SHOPLIFTED items?
by Terry ini realize that such stolen items would have to be in some way portable and this eliminates most large items from the list.
still, i was surprised!.
does anybody have any thoughts as to whether this list is indicative of any special need trends among humanity today?.

Many of those items are priced at levels that cause people to feel like they are being gouged. If prescription meds were accessible to shoplifters, the list would look far different.

JEHOVAH NEEDS YOUR MONEY FOR 2014!!!!!!!!
by DATA-DOG inhas anyone else recieved the letter from the gb about international conventions in 2014?
according to the letter the missionarys/order of full time servants desperately need to get to the conventions in their homeland.
so to accomplish this, jehovah needs 15 cents per publisher, per congregation for some months ( sorry i can't remember the exact length of time ).

I'm pretty sure Just Ron quit putting money in the contribution box long before we quit attending. I take care of all the bills, but I would write a check for cash to cover the donation and household incidentals each payday. I didn't like putting a check in the box because I didn't want anyone to know exactly how much we were contributing - didn't want to be a show off. I'm glad now that he kept the cash.

If you drink coffee . . .
by compound complex indo you prefer regular brew or the fancy offerings?

I like the higher quality coffees. We buy whole bean and grind it every morning. I drink it strong and black. I try to limit myself to half of a 12 cup pot each morning, but sometimes I drink more. I do get a little jittery if I drink more than half a pot. This morning Just Ron wasn't home, and I drank all but one cup out of the whole pot and I'm a little overcaffeinated. I don't usually do the flavored coffees, but if I have to drink restaurant coffee I put cream and sugar in.

What are your reasons for posting here?
by sonnyboy ini'm curious as to what drives some people to post at certain boards.. for me, i first came here over a year ago thinking this was a pro-jw site, ready to jump on the dubs.
lol.
little did i know.... i posted here exclusively for a while, but then found that the repetitive topics became tedious.

What are married women called who attend pioneer school?
by usualusername inmany many many years ago i attended the pioneer and have just recalled that the married sisters were listed on paper as mr jane doe (mrs) or something peculiar like that.. .
is that custom still followed?.
uun .

I remember learning in school that the proper way to address mail to a married woman was Mrs. John Doe. However, in business settings it is no longer appropriate to even ask if a woman is married, so all written references should be Ms. Jane Doe.
